G0A40013) is a mechanical masterpiece that, at the time of its release, was the thinnest mechanical watch in the world. It represents the pinnacle of Piaget's half-century obsession with ultra-thin horology. Traditional barrels are attached to both a bottom plate and a bridge. To save space, Piaget used a "suspended" barrel attached to only a single bridge on the dial side. Because the caseback is the mainplate, the movement had to be built "upside down." This means the bridges are visible on the dial side, requiring them to be finished to aesthetic perfection with circular graining and hand-beveled edges.
